Kybella

A Treatment for Submental Fullness

What is Kybella?

Kybella is a prescription injection used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called, “double chin.” Kybella is deoxycholic acid, which is a natural bile salt used to break down fat and destroys the fat cells when injected into the "double chin". After treatment with Kybella, the fat cells are permanently destroyed. Learn more about Kybella www.mykybella.com

How many treatments will I need?

It depends. Most patients need 2-4 treatments spaced at least 1 month apart. Larger "double chins" will need more treatments, while smaller "double chins" will need less treatment. Per manufacturer's recommendation, up to 6 treatments of Kybella may be performed.

Is Kybella permanent?

Yes! Because Kybella destroys the fat cells in the submental area. Kybella treatments have long lasting and permanent results!

Also referred to as "Double Chin" or "Neck Fat". It is a common, yet undertreated facial aesthetic condition that can:

  • Detract from an otherwise balanced and harmonious facial appearance

  • Lead to an older and heavier look

  • Impact a broad range of adults, including both women and men

  • Be caused by aging, genetics and/or weight gain

Who is a good candidate for treatment?

Coastal Aesthetic Center offers a free consultation for Kybella treatment for anyone concerned about submental fullness, or "double chin." A consultation with an examination of the "double chin" fat pad by one of our providers is the only way to evaluate if you are a candidate for the Kybella procedure.

Downtime or side effects:?

The most common side effects include pain, swelling, and bruising. You can expect 7-10 days of swelling with the best results noted at 6-8 weeks post-injection. Pain from the Kybella injections is transient and subsides dramatically after 15 minutes. Most patients report a pain scale of 2-4 out of 10 with Kybella injections.

How much does Kybella cost?

Cost varies by how many treatments will be needed, most patients will need 2-3 vials of Kybella and about 2-4 treatments.
